Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
Cloister of Sixtus IV

A stairway alongside the Lower Basilica apse, opens up on the so-called “Large Cloister”, the Cloister of Sixtus IV, named after the Franciscan pope who built it. Here is also located a Museum exhibiting furnishing and vestments as well as a collection of paintings. From here you can proceed to the Upper Basilica without passing through the main entrance.
