I can't see anything - what do I need to view these movies?You need Quicktime player to see the movie and it is absolutely free, it doesn't cost anything! Quicktime is free to download and installation is a snap.
What are Quicktime VR movies?QuickTime VR (QuickTime Virtual Reality - also called QTVR) is an amazing technology that allows you to view 360 degree panoramic views and objects in photo-realistic quality. Movies are immersive images. When you view a Quicktime VR movie file, you can interact with the images scrolling and zooming as you like.In this website, you can view what is commonly called a "pano" movie. Using your mouse or keyboard, you can scroll slowly to the left, right, up and down within the picture for a full 360 degree panoramic image effect. You can also zoom in and out of the image using the control bar. Quicktime movies can be viewed on both Macintosh and PC platforms. If you are using an iPod or you have installed the iTunes software you already have Quicktime installed on your PC.

How to use our QTVR Virtual Tour:The QTVR will appear as a normal photograph on a web page, except at the bottom of each movie you will see a "controller" like the one below:
The controller contains several icons which will help you navigate the QTVR. When viewing a QTVR movie, simply move your cursor over these icons for text to appear that shows their functions. These include "Back", "Zoom Out", "Zoom In", "Show Hot Spots", and "Drag Zoomed Object". |
Navigating a QTVR Panorama:When you move your cursor over the image itself in a QTVR movie, your cursor will change to a "Pointer". Click once, hold, and drag to rotate the view. As you drag, the cursor will change to arrows like these:

Zoom In and Out:You can use your keyboard's "Shift" key to Zoom In. As you do so the cursor will change to this icon. You can use your keyboard's "Control" (also "Ctrl") key to Zoom Out. As you do so the cursor will change to this icon. |
A few tips on viewing the Quicktime panoramic VR movies....1. It helps to be a little patient. Downloading a QT movie may take a few minutes, and you won't necessarily see anything on your screen until the file has completely downloaded, so relax. 2. Scroll slowly! All too often I see "first-timers" whiz through a 360 degree panoramic movie at a blistering speed. This might make you dizzy and you certainly won't see much. Slow down, scroll ever so slowly in either direction, zoom in and out of selected areas of interest. Taking it slow and easy often makes a world of difference when viewing and enjoying Quicktime movies. |
